A water main broke on Monroe Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
The broken main caused Wegmans to close for a short period of time and operate at reduced capabilities into the afternoon.
The main was fixed and water service was restored to Wegmans around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Other businesses in the area suffered damages as a result of the break, like Cornell's Jewelers. "Monroe Avenue was flowing, you know like, the Erie Canal," said Michael Cornell, "The water was shooting over the top of the building."
Cornell's Jewelers just finised a two-year rennovation to the store. The building was partially damaged, including flooding in the basement.
As of 8:30 PM this evening the road has been cleared and normal traffic flow has been restored.
