Help Japan concert at Nazareth College | Events
Another earthquake in Japan today but the 7.0-magnitude quake didn't cause the kind of damage Japan saw one month ago when than 9.1-quake hit.
Since the disaster in March, a professor at Nazareth College has been working hard to organize a concert to help Japan.
Dr. Chisato Eda Marling is a lecturer in music and is from Japan -- her mother is there. She knew she had to do something to help her homeland.
There are more than 10 performing groups that will take the stage at Linehan Chapel tonight. All the money raised with go to the Red Cross to support recovery efforts in Japan. Dr. Marling said, “As a Japanese citizen I had to do something to help the people in Japan. As a long time musician, I know the role of music as an international language with a long history of bringing people together.”
The help Japan concert is at 7 p.m. tonight at Nazareth College. Donations are requested.
Another concert is scheduled for May 21.
