New principal selected for Council Rock Primary School | News

Council Rock Primary School will have a new principal next year. Mr. Matt Tappon was selected to succeed Mrs. Leslee Mabee. Mabee has announced her intention to retire at the end of the school year.

Tappon will assume his duties as principal of Council Rock Primary School beginning July 1.

Tappon is currently a House Administrator at the Churchville-Chili Middle School. Prior to joining the Churchville-Chili Central School District, Tappon was a sixth grade Language Arts teacher, a third and fourth grade classroom teacher, a Reading Specialist and a Literacy Coach in the Rush-Henrietta Central School District.  Tappon is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo with both a B.A. and Masters in Education. He completed his leadership course work in the certification program at SUNY Oswego.
