You've probably seen them out on the canal. Rowing can be competitive and recreational and it's not just for high school or college students. The Genesee Rowing Club is for adults.
Members put their oars in the water Thursday morning for a practice at the Pittsford Indoor Rowing Center. From racing to recreational opportunities, this club has it all.
Genesee Rowing Club President Todd Thayer said, “Different people have different priorities and different desires and some people just like to be out on the water the river and the canal are beautiful waterways. We're really lucky to have such nice places to row in this area.”
You can learn to row for free with the Genesee Rowing Club. It's hosting a free event for national Learn to Row Day on Saturday, June 4 at the Pittsford Indoor Rowing Center.
