Unemployment down in Rochester area | People

Unemployment numbers in the Rochester-area have fallen to a three-year low.

According to a report released by the state Department of Labor, the unemployment rate in Rochester in October of 2011 was 6.7%, down almost a full percent from 7.4% the year before.

Nationally, the rate has dropped half a percent- down to 8.5% from 9% last year.

Ontario County boasts the third lowest unemployment rate in the state. Unemployment there is at 6%.
